The Man from Laramie

This is the most unfriendly country I've ever been in

Will Lockhart (James Stewart) is obsessed with finding the man who killed his brother by selling automatic rifles to the Apaches. He meets the aging, nearly blind, ranch baron Alec Waggoman (Donald Crisp) who worries about his two sons. His psychopathic natural-born son Dave (Alex Nicol) and the more reliable Vic Hansbro (Arthur Kennedy).

Unaware that he is trespassing on Waggoman's land, Will finds himself accosted by Dave, who brutally beats him and is ready to kill him. But Will is rescued at the last minute by Vic. Will's patient, yet single-minded mission is escalated to an even stronger vengeance when he is deliberately shot through the palm of his hand by Dave. Then Lockhart finds out that both Dave and Vic have an agenda in making sure that he never uncovers the source of the rifles.
