On the Town
New York, New York, a wonderful townThe Bronx is up and the Battery down
Three sailors on a 24 hour leave from their ship docked in New York City want to have as much fun as they can squeeze into a limited amount of time. Chip (Frank Sinatra) plans to see as much of the city as possible. Ozzie (Jules Munshin) plans to meet a lot of girls and Gabey (Gene Kelly) hopes to meet one special girl.
While riding on a subway, the three sailors see a poster of Ivy Smith, "Miss Turnstiles" for the month of June. Gabey (Gene Kelly) falls in love with her. The friends start looking for Turnstiles. During their search Ozzie meets Claire (Ann Miller), an anthropologist and Chip bumps into Hildy Esterhazy (Betty Garrett), an aggressively amorous taxi driver. Gabey finds Ivy; she passes herself off as a celebrity, but she's actually something else.
