Charu Roy (Emperor Shah Jehan) falls in love with the slave Enakashi Rama Rao (Princess Selima). They marry and she becomes Empress Mumtaz Mahal. When she dies, the emperor builds the Taj Mahal, a mausoleum in memory of his favorite wife.
