March or Die
One of my men got nervous
At the end of World War I, a division of the French Foreign Legion led by Major Foster (Gene Hackman) has been ordered to protect an archaelogical expedition in the desert of Morocco lead by professor François Marneau (Max von Sydow).
The excavation incites the wrath of El Krim (Ian Holm), a powerful Arab leader who uses it to arouse religious fanaticism amongst his tribes and lead an attack on the foreigners. The tiny garrison at the dig makes a last stand against the assaults

Marco Segrain: [facing a line of new recruits and citing the late Major Foster] Some of will give up. Some of you will even try to run. I warn you, until now no one succeeded. When the Legion doesn't get you, the Arabs will. When the Arabs won't catch you, the desert will. And when the desert doesn't devour your measly corpses, then I will. I wouldn't know what's worse
